Binding Options

Every Binding Option. One Shop.

Tell us what the booklet is for and we will recommend the binding. Not sure? Call and we will walk you through it before anything goes to print.

Saddle Stitch

Stapled through the spine, folded flat. The standard for event programs and real estate booklets. Page count works in multiples of four.

Best for: thinner booklets

Cerlox Binding

Plastic comb that lies completely flat when open. Preferred for course materials, training guides, and workbooks people write in.

Best for: training materials

Coil Binding

Spiral coil that opens a full 360 degrees and holds its shape. Common for presentation booklets and reference guides used on a job site.

Best for: reference guides

Perfect Bound

Glued square spine you can print on. The professional finish for corporate profiles, catalogues, and annual reports. Looks like a published book.

Best for: thicker documents

Covers and Lamination

Heavier cover stock in gloss, matte, or soft touch. Soft touch has a suede feel and resists fingerprints, which is why it turns up on proposals and corporate profiles.

We Catch the Details

Page count, bleed, cover stock, imposition. Sorted before anything runs, not after.

Before You Send Your File

What people ask before their first booklet order.

What binding options do you offer?

Saddle stitch, Cerlox comb, coil, and perfect bound. Saddle stitch is stapled through the spine and folds flat. Cerlox and coil both lie flat when open, which suits anything people write in. Perfect bound gives a glued square spine you can print on. Tell us the page count and what the booklet is for and we will recommend one.

Is there a minimum quantity?

No minimum on digital runs. If you need twelve copies for a board meeting, we print twelve. That is the main reason people bring booklet work to a local shop rather than an online printer with a case minimum.

How should I set up the file?

Send a PDF in reading order as single pages, not as spreads. We handle the imposition. Include bleed if artwork runs to the edge. For saddle stitch the total page count needs to work in multiples of four, and if yours does not we will tell you before it runs rather than after.

How fast can you turn a booklet around?

Most booklet orders are ready within the same week. Binding adds a step that straight printing does not, so booklets take longer than business cards. If you have a fixed event date, call before noon with the deadline and we will tell you straight what is achievable rather than give you a vague estimate.

Can you do colour covers with black and white inside?

Yes, and it is a common way to keep the cost down on longer documents. Full colour cover on heavier stock, black and white text inside. Covers can be gloss, matte, or soft touch laminated.

Do you keep the file for reorders?

Yes. Your file stays on record, so a reorder is a phone call rather than a new setup. If the content changed, send the revised PDF and tell us what moved.
